Recently Bought #4

As mentioned I am moving to London next month to start my new job (eek). They wear casual clothes in the office, so obviously I have been picking up some new bits and pieces. Here's what I have so far (I say so far because it is only going to get worse)...

This top from ASOS is so cool. They didn't have a size 10 left and I didn't want to get an 8 in case it was too tight, so this is actually from the maternity section ha. It fits really well though, just hope I haven't pre-empted anything there!

I loveee berry knitwear and to date have been stealing my sisters jumper, which is very similar to this. This one fits snuggly on the arms and then flows down nice and flattering on your body. It's also not to thick that you need to remove all your clothes when you get in the building after racing to work.

I'm one of those people. This is a Ramones band t-shirt and I don't really listen to the Ramones. Kill me now huh? I didn't know it was until I got it as I just hurled it in the basket as a throw over jeans t-shirt. It's cool though and I'll learn a few songs for when people ask me.

Bah, this is so creased! Also, I clearly can't hang clothes straight. This was a bargain and looks so good underneath the berry jumper.

Still not sure about the back flaps on this Warehouse jumper haha but it fits really well and looks pretty cool. It's a thin knit with leather piping, which gives it a bit of somethin-somethin. Obviously not enough for the designers though "This jumper is missing something.... What about some flaps/wings?! Genius"

Oversized t-shirts are the bomb aren't they? They just go with everything! Leggings, jeans, jeggings and all kinds of other cross-bred clothing options. This is a coffee-nude colour, which really drew me in. Already had lots of compliments and I look cooler than I actually am.

My camera hates this print, it's freaking my eyes out. These are from H&M and they are so flattering! I wore them to a few interviews as I was going for marketing/creative jobs and I didn't want to look to suited up, yet still smart. I will deffo be rocking these on a night out with some chunky heels v.soon.

You're eyes are not playing tricks, this is the same jumper as the berry one, but in navy. I got this one first and loved it. I'm really into navy at the moment as an alternative to black, especially as I feel like all I wear is black sometimes.

Creased, again. This Illustrated People sweatshirt is just too cute. It has a fleece lining too, so it is super cosy and again means I'm not always wearing black!

Hope you liked this clothing haul, I'm sure there is more to come. Let me know if you have posted any hauls or have any lust posts, as I am still looking out for some new clothes!

2014 Goals

Every year like most people I look back on the previous months and start to think about how I can make this next year as memorable as the last. I don't really go for the 'New Year, New You' stuff, but I do think reflection and hindsight are great and you should always look to be the best version of yourself. Here are my goals:

To stay hungry & foolish. If you've never seen this speech by Steve Jobs in 2005, you should have a watch. If you have too many days in a row where you think 'I don't want to be doing this', you need to make a change, so in 2014 I am going to make sure I change any of the negative aspects in my life, so I wake up feeling motivated.

To stop eating everything & move. Every year my boyfriend and I say we are going to get fit. It lasts a few months and then we crash and start eating all the Quality Street. I'm going to try the 80/20 thing - 80% healthy & 20% naughty. I'm going to attempt to find salad and lunch recipes that don't bore the life out of me and a hobby that will keep me fit.

To see more & do more. It's my mum and dad's 25th wedding anniversary in January and they are doing 25 new things to celebrate including various trips away (crazy love cats). After spending some Christmas money during the Boxing Day sales, I looked around my room and realised that I had just added even more stuff that I really didn't need. My parents have inspired me to spend more of my money on doing exciting new things and be less materialistic. After all, a new watch/dress/lipstick is great, but a day with someone special is worth a whole lot more.

What are your resolutions for 2014?

New threads.

I've been meaning to do a post with some of my recent purchases, but hadn't managed to get round to it due to one thing or another. So, here it is! These are some of my most recent purchases:

White crochet back barbie shirt, Never Fully Dressed
Olive Jones cardi, Never Fully Dressed
Black cotton barbie shirt, Never Fully Dressed
Earrings with cuff and spikes, Topshop
Chandelier earrings with small crosses, Topshop
Rose gold cross necklace, Topshop
'Let's Roll' tee, Topshop
Pastel print shirt, H&M
Gold stone pendant necklace, Topshop

I actually don't shop at Topshop much, but I do like their accessories and beauty section as it's pretty affordable so you can treat yourself. This pastel print shirt from H&M is really cute, its long enough to wear with leggings and I have had a bunch of compliments from my friends since getting it. I am a big fan of a shirt because you can wear them with anything and make it look dressy or casual and I think H&M do some great shirts that look like they are worth a lot more money.

Never Fully Dressed is probably my favorite place to shop (I know big statement!). I discovered their cool London boutique site whilst I was at university and immediately fell in love with every single item on their site. They have managed to create an effortlessly cool collection with pieces you can wear in the daytime with a knit or at night with a blazer. I think its really important to find items of clothing that are versatile and Never Fully Dressed have got this down to a T. Also, their model Kasia looks amazing in everything she wears which makes me want to buy even more!

I will do some outfit posts to show you how I have worn my new purchases, currently I have only worn the H&M shirt here (ignore the messiness of my room, I am in-between packing/unpacking/clearing/organising!)

Pastel print shirt, H&M
Black tank top (under shirt), H&M
Olive Ostrich feather gillet, Never Fully Dressed
Leggings, Asda
Boots, M&S

Beauty Buys.

Aloha! I've been a bit naughty this week with my shopping habits and I have been getting sucked into every offer that I come across doing the classic 'But its 30% off!' and not really thinking that it's still 70% on...oops?!

Boots had a 'Buy one, get one half price' deal on this week and these were my two treats:

The first purchase is the Bourjois Sweet Kisses Lipstick in 'Rouge Intemporel' which is drunkenly modelled by me and my friend from the weekend in the last picture there. Its a great colour, although I thought it would be slightly pinker/purple rather than red when I bought it. I would definitely recommend it though, as after a fair few cocktails my lipstick was still pretty fresh! It's priced at £7.99 and comes in a really sleek case (cool button thing - whoohoo), so I would give 4.5/5 overall.

The second purchase was a 'Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer' which was definitely a 'oh-my-god-I-get-something-half-price-quick-grab-something-now-that-really?-yes-I've-always-wanted-one' moment. I always have trouble with highlighters, as I haven't managed to find something that I adore. Sadly, I'm not a huge fan of this either! It has a clicky twisty button which ends up shooting the product out and the coverage is quite light. The original (non-deal) price is £9.99, so I would give this a 2.5/5 overall as you can probably find a cheaper one that will do the same thing.

I have bought a few new clothes AND jewels (naughty), so I will have to do another post for those, but if anyone can recommend a highlighter for me please do!

Peace, Emmy x

Oh hello GLOSSYBOX!

Okay...I admit that I am a little bit behind on the GLOSSYBOX bandwagon, but my very first box (the October box, just) arrived today and I almost couldn't contain my excitement! For anyone else who is a bit late on the beauty box craze as well, check out the website here GLOSSYBOX for more information. I decided to get the 6 month subscription to see what it was like and show you all what you can expect:

The box itself: adorable!

It's like a present for yourself
The description of what you got, offers & codes

The best bit: the products!
Up close & personal
Firstly, apologies for my bad photography skills, but hopefully you get the idea! (I need a bit more practice) Anyways, my box contained:

Anatomicals 'Don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub'
Love, love LOVE the packaging! It is fun and quirky, which I am always drawn to. I am a big fan of a body scrub to keep those nasty ingrown hairs at bay and give yourself a good clean and I am excited to use this one.

Yves Rocher France 'Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser - HYDRA VEGETAL'
A bit of a mouthful! I am looking forward to testing this brand, as I have heard good things. I was a bit gutted I got the anti-wrinkle cream over the lipstick as I am only 22, but I did ask my mum if she wanted to help me review it (she was slightly offended, yet excited)

Skinetica 'Anti-Blemish'
So, the timing of this could not have been better as I am sporting a huge spot on my chin that is giving me a whole different face shape right now aka a second head. I will deffo be testing this baby out tonight in the hope that my'growth' is reduced (it says results in 2-3 days so we shall see...)

The Organic Pharmacy 'Enzyme Peel Mask with Vitamin C & Papaya'
Again, it's like someone knew I had a breakout this week! I love papaya in products as it always smells so yummy, so hopefully my face will smell and look better after this.

Sally Hansen 'Complete Salon Manicure'
My last product (sad face) promises to be a 5 step manicure in one bottle - say whaaaat - including a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and a top coat. I got a metallic black, which was nice as it's a bit different from a matte black which I think can be a bit hard to wear on a regular basis. Hopefully it is chip resistant because that is my usual problem!
That is everything, hope you enjoyed having a sneak peak into my GLOSSYBOX. When I am a bit more organised with my blog I will put the images up of my monthly boxes when I have tested the products and give my verdict. I was a bit late this month, so I will have to review them in a separate post.

Love, Emmy x
