#TreatTuesday No.6

Hello nighttime bloggers (if you are reading this hot of the press), how good/naughty am I? #TreatTuesday is still going strong my friends. I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm sleepy and I don't want to bore you, these are my cheeky #TreatTuesday treats this week...

Excuse the quality of my phone photos (downside of blogging at night!) the swatch is the lipstick on the left and then the blusher on the right - such gorgeous colours!

Vans tie dye long sleeve shirt from Ebay here - How cool is this? I mean c'mon 'cool alert' is just ringing non stop. Okay, so actual cool people don't say cool alert, meaning I may not be cool enough to wear this tee...If you are legitimately cool though, check out the Ebay page, you can offer cheaper than what they are for sale (sweet) and it came in no time at all and looks COOL.

Neon detail statement necklace from Topshop - I'm all over the statement necklaces at the moment (check out my blinging chain here) and neon and statement combined is just amazing, so yeah 'hello, welcome to my jewellery collection babes' (just chatting to my necklace).

Topshop 'Head over heels' cream blusher - I'm usually all about the powder blushes, but I've seen some good reviews of this one and thought I would give it a whirl. It's such a gorgeous colour, which no joke sends you into trance about summer as it's just too summer it hurts.

Topshop 'Ohh La La' Lipstick - Major love for the names of these, so cute. This is another 'let's will the sunshine to come out through the power of summer themed makeup' item. Cannot wait to get a bit of a tan and whack this lipstick on!

I think I will do a beauty look with the blusher and the lipstick this week/weekend to show you them in their full glory, so stay tuned (cool your jets, I know it's exciting).

That's it for this week's #TreatTuesday what do you all think of these purchases? Please tell me you are joining in with my quest to make Tuesday's a better day.

Ps...I think nighttime blogging makes me crazy
PPs...I am like 7 fine followers away from 100 - "Shut the door! That is too cool" - so I am planning something pretty freeking amaze as a giveaway

Birthday Wishlist

Birthday Wishlist

My birthday is coming up next month and my mum asked me to think of a few things I would like. I was definitely in the mind frame of "I don't want anything/I can't think of anything!" until I hopped on line and now...I want everything!! Here's a few items that have caught my eye:
Michael Kors Watch - I have a sliver watch, so I would like one that goes with gold jewellery too. I love the detailing of this particular one and I don't think it's too in your face.
Victoria's Secret Bikini - I'm going to Croatia with a bunch of mates and I really want an amazing bikini. VS have loads of really pretty patterns and maybe if I get one I will automatically become a VS model?!
Zara blazer/jacket - LOVE. The pattern and style of this jacket is so up my street and I think it's perfect for all year round.
Rimmel Apocalips - Seen these everywhere and would love to try them out, I have my eye on 'Luna'
Essie 'Mint Candy Apple' - Again, seen this everywhere and it looks like THE best colour for spring/summer.
Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet - I like getting jewellery that is a little more expensive for my birthday and I thought this was the perfect mix of luxury meets every day, so you can wear it every day.
Hugo Boss 'Deep Red' - One of my first ever perfumes that my boyfriend bought me and I realised I haven't had it for agesss and it smells gorgeous, so yeah on the wishlist it goes!
There's more than this (obviously), but I don't want to be greedy! Hope you've all had a good weekend, big love.

February Favorites: Top 5

(Ok, so this is a bit late, but...) Oh hiya March! Don't know about you, but I can't believe it is March already! Christmas was so long ago now - crazy. I thought I would recap on February and highlight the products which I have been full on l-o-v-i-n-g.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush - £11.99
I got this brush on one of my many #TreatTuesday's after hearing great things about this brand and this brush in particular. I know sometimes when everyone is loving something it's a bit annoying because you do start to think "Is everyone just copying everyone else?", but I don't think you can really jump on a 'brush bandwagon' can you? Is that a thing? Anyway, bandwagon or not I can honestly say this brush does make your foundation look flawless as it blends so well. Also, I think it's amazing how none of the bristles come out whilst you swirl and buff your foundation - recommend!

The Body Shop Seaweed Skincare Gift Bag - £10
Another #TreatTuesday gift to my self (naughty) was this skincare gift set from The Body Shop. I cannot recommend this set enough, it was only £10 and my skin feels glorious (trying some new adjectives out haha). My skin smells and feels so clean after using this set and the night serum (recommended for normal-oily skin) seems to reduce the oiliness I tend to get a bit of now and again.

The Body Shop 4-Colour Eye Palette - Smoky Moonstone - £14
Another Body Shop purchase made on the same #TreatTuesday as above. This eye palette is gorgeous and I've been using it all month. The colours mean you can create a subtle smokey eye for the daytime or something a bit more glamorous for the evening. I like it when there's a product that can achieve a great look without you having to drag 10+ products around with you.

Benefit Erase Paste - Fair/shade 1 - £19.50
I've done a full review of this here so I will keep this short. Basically, I love this little pot of brightening concealer. If you've had a tiring week and used this then you honestly wouldn't know because this pot of goodness makes you look wide awake. If you do buy it though, don't look at the spatula thing like I did and think 'yes, you're handy, but I don't need you' because when you get through the pot a little further it gets stuck up your nail if you use your finger, so you deffo need a concealer brush.

Rituals 'Magic Touch' - £5 70ml & £15 200ml
I got this magic cream in my December Glossybox (here) and despite it being a small size it lasted right through til mid February. I wont go on about it too much as I have mentioned it in the Glossybox post, but the cream smells incredible and the fact that it dries at the speed of light makes it perfect. Definitely repurchasing this one, I think you can get it from House of Fraser - another #TreatTuesday maybe?

What were you guys l-o-v-i-n-g (it's really hard to spell correctly when you do that dash thing!) this February or what are you loving (screw the dash thing) now we are in March? (I am fashionably late rifght?!)

Ps. I just wrote an article for London Beauty Hub on my 'Top five make-up essentials for Spring 2013', so check that out here. Also if you want to you can follow me or whatevs via these: Instagram | Twitter | WIHT (I have just joined lookbook, but no outfits yet! I'll keep you posted)

#TreatTuesday No.5

#TreatTuesday is here again! I’ve been a bit MIA on the #TreatTuesday posts recently because I have been really busy at work and doing some freelance shizzle (see here). On top of those excuses I actually got a little bit poor (just a little), I hadn’t realised how much I was spending and then there was Valentines, Papa Carl’s birthday and Mother’s day etc too – TGFIASM (thank god February is a short month! Not as catchy as TGIF I will admit).

Onto the treats, I have some fashion finds and of course beauty buys to run by y’all.

Orange blouse – Forever21
Shirt with car print – NastyGal
Crochet Jumper – Never Fully Dressed
Gold gangsta Chain – H&M

The clothes are all screaming SUMMER a little bit, so I have been teaming them with some chunky knits and tailored jackets because despite the sunshine making an appearance, it’s not quite warm enough not to. If you read my blog, you will know that I love Never Fully Dressed a lot (here) they make some seriously cool stuff and they just have the best team ever working there, which is so important with an online shop.

The car shirt is part of a disaster of a first order from NastyGal, like NFD their customer service is really good and I was more than happy with the communication. However, the other three items were not so great and I had to pay a customs charge of £20 to collect it which I wasn’t expecting. I’m also having a bit of trouble sending them the package back, has anyone else from team GB had these problems?

Forever21 have some amazing shirts in at the moment and this one just happened to catch my eye. It’s an amazing colour and the quality is also really good considering it was pretty cheap. I think I mentioned it here, but I am looking to stock up on a few neon shirts on my next visit to the wonderful city of Birmingham.

They see me rollin, they hatin! This H&M chain is pretty gangsta, but it looks seriously cool with a girly blouse or dress. I am loving the statement necklaces that are out at the moment and H&M have some of the best on the high street in my opinion.

I picked up the Max Factor Smooth Effect foundation in 'Buff Beige' pretty swiftly today because it's one I have used many times and I like the finish. I don't know about you guys, but I like to have a few foundation options because I go through phases where I suddenly think 'Woah you are orange or too pale etc"

I've seen loads of great things about Lee Stafford products recently, so thought I would give the Hair Growth Treatment a try. I feel like I need to give my blonde locks a good treatment once a week and the packaging does say 'for hair that doesn't grow past that certain length' which is so me. Also, it smells ah-maze!

My hand is always so creepy!

Finally, (pretty big bunch of treats!) I picked up a Glamour mag where I got a free bottle of Percy & Reed 'Quite frankly flawless finishing polish' which I am excited to use on my hair properly (it also smells insane and has such cute packaging) and the Boots magazine, which I love. I haven't bought a mag for ages actually, so this is a definite treat.

What have you all been buying this week? Any other members of the #TreatTuesday club willing to come forward? (Don't worry this is a safe place haha)

London Beauty Hub: Top five quirky treats for Mother’s Day

Image from my article (from notonthehighstreet.com)

I recently got the exciting chance (yesterday) to write an article for a new beauty & lifestyle website called London Beauty Hub which covers the latest beauty, lifestyle and health & fitness trends emerging from our trend setting capital, London. To give you more of an idea of the site, they have articles and features such as:

- Product of the week: pretty self explanatory, massive love that they do this weekly.
- Top 5 gifts for (insert special occasion): always helpful when someone else does the research for you because it is tricky to think of original gifts year on year.
-  My journey posts: this is where they follow someones journey from one career to a new one in the lifestyle industry. These are so interesting and inspiring, especially because most of the interviewees have had to make quite dramatic decisions like leaving Goldman Sachs to become a chef!
- Beauty, lifestyle events & places to visit: up to date info on what's on each month giving us all more excuses to keep our beauty addict lifestyles alive and kicking
- Inside scoop from professionals: who doesn't want to know what it's like to be a manicurist at London Fashion Week?
- Plus, loads more!

The article I wrote was the 'Top five quirky treats for Mother’s Day' (here), which I would love you all to check out and let me know what you think. Hope you all like the website too, I think it will be a popular site as it develops - exciting!

Overnight Oats

Image from here

I was first introduced to 'Overnight Oats' by my friend Charlotte who was always coming up with yummy, but healthy food ideas at uni (you know when people can make a salad look better than a steak? That's Char).

The recipe is from Lauren Conrad's site (here) which i am always on because she looks amazing all the time and I want to be her haha. It's a seriously simple and quick recipe that is perfect if you are like me and would rather get the extra 10 mins in bed than eat breakfast before work. All you need is:

  • 2/3 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup organic rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup vanilla (or plain) Greek yogurt (I used non-fat)
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

  • You mix all the ingredients in an air tight container and whack it in the fridge the night before. The next day, you are good to go! As you madly rush out of the door, then back in again because you forgot something and then back out again you don't have to worry about your breakfast.

A couple of extra ideas I like to do are:

  •  Use a Muller corner (or similar style) yogurt, so you use the greek yogurt in the recipe and you can add the compot to your breakfast for extra flavour.
  •  Take a banana and some almond flakes to add on top or any other fruit.

  • This recipe will keep your hunger at bay until lunchtime and it's super healthy. Just got to do the exercise part now...

The image and recipe are all from Lauren Conrad's Website here

    M&S Bra Fitting: Save £5!

All baps, boobies, coconuts, breasts, tits, mosquito bites or juicy juicy mangoes need to be concealed in a good fitting and preferably sexy bit of lingerie. I had got to that point where my underwear was looking a bit desperate and I needed to go and get fitted for the best size and style, so today was that day.

I headed to M&S because they always have loads of great underwear that's not just for the golden oldies. I booked a bra fitting appointment (I think you have to book a time at most places) and left with some gorgeous underwear at the right size and a good price - winning!

I thought I would do this post as they are offering £5 off when you spend £30 on lingerie after you've been fitted at M&S (I spent about £70 and they were legends and did two transactions, so I saved £10!). It literally took about 40mins in total after I tried a bunch of stuff on and the lady that was helping me was lovely. I definitely recommend going if you are in need of a little boost ;)

Ps. For anyone who is worried, you don't take your bra off. They simply measure under the bust and then they pick two cup sizes they think you are and look and see which fits you best! You will be surprised how wrong you can get it and how much one style can look amazing and another not so much.
